YAY! Thanks to Amber from Rainbows and Sparkles Blog for giving me this Kreativ Blogger Award =] It made my day!

  • Pass the award along to 10 other bloggers and tell them about the award!
Here's my 10 facts:
1. I'm Filipino and Mexican.
2. I love watching movies!
3. My fiancee is Tongan.
4. Pizza is my favorite food; I can eat it for every meal of everyday.
5. My polish addiction got worse when I started blogging LOL (I feel like it justifies buying more stuff).
6. I have long hair that goes down to my waist.
7. I will be going to school in September to be a nurse (and then I won't be able to do my nails as often *sadface*)
8. I love wearing flip flops, even when it's raining.
9. I suck at putting on makeup.
10. Just about all my shopping is done online.

I pass this award to:

OPI Teenage Dream & OPI Black Shatter

Whee I finally tried out OPI Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection and I have to say i LOVE it! It is pretty sheer, but I used 3 coats and it looks great. It dries really bumpy so a topcoat is needed. It's sooo sparkly though it's hard not to love it.

I decided to only use black shatter on half of the nail because Teenage Dream is so pretty I didn't want to cover it all up. I got the sideswipe idea from LOVE4NAILS on YouTube. She's able to do the sideswipe freehand, but for my mani I did use tape. I also added a line of silver glitter to add more sparkle!

Nautical Star Mani

Good morning everyone! I can't believe I'm at 22 followers now! Thanks to those who take time to read my blog =] So I guess you can call this a nautical or Nor-Cal mani. I used L.A. Girl Disco Brites in Disco Fever and stamped with BM plates 220 and 206 in Konad black. I was really hesistant to try the tip designs cuz they look huge, but I was actually really happy with how these turned out! Don't really know how I feel about that little open space on the bottom, but I was too lazy to stamp an extra star in between everything.

Mini Haul

Whoo hoo, look what was waiting for me when I got home!
The Orly Cosmic FX collection. There's natural rock minerals, crystals, and glass in these. They retail for about $10 each, but I purchased these from Orly Diva where they were only $6.50 each! Can't wait to use these =]

Royal Wedding Nails

I'm sure there's tons of people in the nail community doing the same as me this week--Royal Wedding nails! I actually hate how these came out because I used Sinful Colors in Miami Heat and I hate the formula. I feel like it never dries! Unfortunately, this was the only royal blue color I own. Also, I wanted to add crown stamps from BM 08, but for some reason I could not get the crowns to pick up on my stamp =[ Anyways, I used BM 10 for the tips and stamped with CG Passion.

The first picture is the true color of the polish. Sorry I didn't even do clean up, but I wasn't sure I was even going to post pics lol.

Freehand Nail Art

I offered to do my moms nails yesterday and then last night she took me up on that offer so I was kinda tired when I did this, but I think they came out really well. I don't typically do freehand stuff, I usually do stamping. I used CG Fairy Dust for the base and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fuchsia Power for the tips.

Snake/Reptile Skin Mani

I was so excited about the new plates, that I had to do a new mani before bed. I actually got to not only try a new plate for the first time, but I also was able to test out CG Passion's stamping ability. It works great! I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Black Out for the base color and BM 224.

New Bundle Monster Plates!

YAY so when I got to my parents house today, the new second set of Bundle Monster plates were awaiting me! The plates have these clear blue plastic coverings on the images, which are SO much easier to take off. They also have backing on them so they aren't as sharp as the old ones and scratch the other plates. In my excitement, I forgot to take an image of the back of a plate lol.

Safari Nails!

Hey, hope everyone had a good Easter yesterday! So this is a mani I've done once before, but last time I just did it freehand and this time I used tape to keep the lines somewhat straight. The base colors are Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On and OPI DS Glow. I used Konad plate M78.

In case any of you are interested, Zoya is still having their Earth Day Nail Polish Exchange until Wednesday the 27th! I do not currently own any Zoya polish and I'm looking to place an order. I've been looking at SO many swatches, but there's too many to chose from! Anyone have suggestions? I really like the shimmery, sparkly polishes. I'm probably going to get Charla, Mimi, Apple, Tanzy, Faye, and Kimmy for sure, but perhaps a couple more ;] After these, no more buying nail polish for awhile!

OPI Dim Sum Plum Hello Kitty Nails

I had such a hard time deciding what color to use last night, but I chose to use OPI Dim Sum Plum as a base for this manicure. Haha yes, I'm pretty indecisive when it comes to what to do to my nails. Anyways, I stamped the bows with Konad plate M56 in Konad Yellow. I stamped the Hello Kitty image in Konad White from a fauxnad plate I purchased on ebay. I also heard you can purchase the plate from Born Pretty and there's even a way to get it for free with a coupon code. I filled in the bow with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blue Me Away.

Yay I was able to catch the sun last minute before work this morning!

Transdesign Haul

YAY! My order from Transdesign just arrived a little while ago. Too bad it arrived when it was already pretty dark outside. I decided to just take indoor pics. Sorry for the somewhat dim lighting in my room.
Left to right: Happy Go Lucky, Reggae to Riches, Passion, Fairy Dust, and Color Club Covered In Diamonds
Ahh I finally got the O.P.I. Katy Perry Collection =] (They're the 4 on the left)
Left to right: The One That Got Away, Not Like the Movies, Last Friday Night, Teenage Dream, Designer Series Extravagance, and Dim Sum Plum

I can't wait to use all of them! Oh yea, on another note, I just ordered Bundle Monsters second series of nail art plates. They just became available for purchase today on Amazon and on their Bundle Monster Website! You get 25 plates for $21.99. I'm so excited!

Konad M60 Easter Nails

So this is my first time doing Easter themed nails. I was pretty indecisive about what to do since I didn't want anything too over the top. I was going to do 5 colors, but it may have looked too crazy so I picked 4. I used L.A. Girl Disco Brites Hustle (purple), Freak (pink), Turntable (green), and Psychedelic (yellow). I actually love the Disco Brites polishes because they have a jelly-like formula and have a very glossy finish, but I probably shouldn't have used them for this manicure because it ended up being so thick =[ Good thing I used Seche Vite Quick Dry Topcoat after each color haha.

As you can see in the pics, the tips are slightly messed up since there are so many layers there. Sorry for the dark pics, it was pretty gloomy outside this morning.

Konad M60 & Sally Hansen White On

Not too much to say about this mani, except that I got so many compliments on this manicure at work this weekend! I really like how this one turned out. I wanted to use white as a base this time. Last time I did this on a turquoise base with black stamping, and in person it was so hard to see I had a design on my nails.

Sally Hansen HD Swatches

My fiancee, Nate, surprised me last week when I got home from work. He bought me these Sally Hansen HD polishes! I wanted to do full hand swatches, but I don't know when I'll find the time, so I just did skittles for now.

Left to Right: LCD, Spectrum, Lite, Wavelength, DVD

I used 3 coats for each color. Even with 3 coats LCD (thumb) was very sheer. It's a pretty shimmer polish that would work good for layering. The other 4 could be used as a standalone polish, although still might be better off used for layering. I have seen swatches of these polishes over black, and they look SO much better. Maybe I'll save that for another day. Overall, I really like the duochrome effects of LCD, spectrum, and DVD the most. As for Lite and Wavelength, they are a little more opaque than the rest and a little less shimmery, but I still like how they can be used on their own.

Bundle Monster Contest Fail

So Bundle Monster is releasing a 2nd set of nail plates on April 25th and they had a nail contest for people to have a chance to win this new set. Anyways, I totally missed the deadline. I did my nails and took pics, but just didn't get a chance to submit them because I thought the deadline was P.M. not A.M. time. I used BM 16, stamped with Konad special polish Black, and dotted with Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Fuchsia Power. Not crazy about this mani. It was my first time using BM and the images don't pick up as well as the Konad plates I'm used to. Stamping each nail twice also kinda sucked, but thier upcoming full nail designs are larger! YAY!

OPI Simply Smashing & OPI Black Shatter

Okay so I'm new to blogging, but my fiancee convinced me I should make one and I'm really excited to start this up. I don't know where to begin, so I'll start off with a bit about me.

I wasn't too into nail polish or nail art until my sister introduced me to Konad a couple years ago. I would use hers on occasion, but I finally decided to buy my own and I have fell in love with nail art since then! I have recently started doing my nails more often than usual because I will start a nursing program soon, and heartbreakingly, nail polish is not allowed. That's pretty much the worst thing that can happen to a nailphile ='[ Anyways, until then, I'll be sharing my nail art, swatches, and any exciting events that come my way!

So I tried out Serena Williams first two polishes from her OPI collection. First is "Simply Smashing," which is a gold-green polish with very fine glitter. The other is "Black Shatter," which is the same shatter polish that comes with Katy Perry's Collection. I was hesistant to use Simply Smashing since a few reviewers said they had super yellow nails after wearing it, but I mustered up the courage! Here are the pics:
